The online bingo market in the United Kingdom is growing increasingly quickly, recently released statistics reveal. It has been revealed that the revenue of the online bingo markets has experienced a steady and sustained rise throughout this year, and currently shows no sign of slowing down.

The increase in revenue is not that surprising, as for a number of months it has been known that the bingo industry in the United Kingdom is finding it much easier to raise money from running games and promotions online. The rise of the online bingo market has highlighted a fall in the popularity of the traditional bingo club, and a number of these traditional bingo halls have been forced to close down over the course of this year. However, the move to market bingo and gaming increasingly online simply shows the natural progression of business within the sector, and cannot be slowed down in order to sustain the clubs, most of which are now being used less and less. It appears clear that the bingo playing customer, in most cases, would now rather play bingo online than in an old fashioned hall. Certainly, the large majority of the bingo market’s profit now comes from the online market.

Bingo giants such as Mecca Bingo and Gala Bingo are citing the amount of competition from other companies as well as the obvious revenue benefits as their reasons for moving online. It is much easier to market bingo online than it is in a club, and much easier to attract customers. In a traditional bingo hall, the customers are likely to be regulars who will need to encouragement to attend. However, other people may not see the halls as somewhere that they would for social purposes like to attend. Currently Mecca Bingo and Gala Bingo own over forty percent of Britain’s land based bingo clubs between them. Thirty four halls have closed so far this year, but well over six hundred are still running.
